Elizabeta PAVKOVIĆ, M.Sc., was born on March 5, 1962. in Skopje. Pavković completed her secondary education in 1981 at the "Cvetan Dimov" Gymnasium in Skopje. She enrolled in ethnology studies at the Institute of Ethnology at the Institute of Geography of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of the "Sts. Cyril and Methodius" University in Skopje, where in 2002 she earned the title of graduate ethnologist. At the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the same faculty, she enrolled in master's studies in the field of Ethnology of Macedonians, where in 2009 she earned the title of master of ethnological sciences with the thesis "Family Album as a Source for the Study of Identity among the Miyaks".

The monograph Family Album: Narratives, Memories and Identity among the Miyaks in the Republic of Macedonia by the author Elizabeta Pavković provides insight into the visual source – photography, through which identity and ethnicity can be studied – through the relationship of the owners of the visual material and through the perspective of professional and scientific thought. The text successfully treats the topic and issues raised, which in Macedonian ethnology is new in terms of methodology and research techniques, although it is part of the field of visual anthropology that is current in the world, i.e. equal to all other theoretical achievements in the methodology and research techniques in ethnology and sociocultural anthropology.
From an ethnological point of view, the moment of the emergence, development and wide popularity of photography in Macedonia is relevant, especially until the middle of the 20th century, when the local traditional culture of Macedonians was still clearly recognizable in the countryside and in the cities and when photographs took an important place in popular culture, so that, in addition to the icon, the mirror and embroidered towels, photographs became significant contemporary icons framed and glazed, hung on the walls in village and city houses. In processing the field audio and visual materials, the author E. Pavković applied complementary methods in ethnology and sociocultural anthropology, such as the cultural-historical method of monitoring phenomena in processes and the functional method of researching socially conditioned phenomena.
